Make Music Day – Friday, 21st June 2024
As part of the society’s involvement in Making Music’s INCLUDE project we organised three events for Make Music Day in Scunthorpe. Make Music Day is an annual celebration of music-making that takes place in communities across the world on the 21st of June.
We had a great time bringing music to the Central Community Centre, the Ironstone Centre and Cafe Indie, with Robbie (guitarist), Sophia (Singing harpist) and students of John Leggott Sixth Form College. The idea was to bring music to people where they would normally, not them having to go to music. Our team gave out 110 leaflets with free tickets to a concert, so we hope to see some of these tickets being used at one of our first three concerts in October, November or December.
