Scunthorpe and North Lincolnshire Concert Society is delighted to be one of four member groups chosen to work with Making Music on this exciting venture. A small group of members have volunteered to work on the project, with the aim of making the society more inclusive and representative of the local population.
We welcome any suggestions or comments on how we could make the society more inclusive for YOU.

Making Music: INCLUDE is an 18-month programme where music groups are given the opportunity to explore ways in which they can include more people, from a more diverse demographic, in their activities and connect more closely with their local communities.
Over the course of the programme, Making Music will support groups to:
- create and deliver an action plan to make their group more inclusive
- produce two events in their local community
- connect with other groups to share their learnings and challenges
- inspire other music groups by sharing their journey, which others can use to develop their own access and inclusion work.
Making Music champions leisure-time music groups across the UK with practical services, artistic development opportunities and by providing a collective voice for its members. It represents nearly 4,000 groups of around 280,000 musicians of all types, genres and abilities.
INCLUDE is funded by Arts Council England as part of its initiative to engage with and fund areas that have previously been low on investment – these places can be found in the Levelling Up for Culture Places list. Making Music has been awarded funding to create new activity that engages with groups that are based in one or more of the Levelling Up for Culture Places
